Kiji Kutani on Poetry International Web

The October issue of Poetry International Web (http://international.poetryinternationalweb.org/) is now online. Featured: the Japanese poet Kiji Kutani. Editor Yasuhiro Yotsumoto looks at the disarming and disorienting qualities of Kutani's work, evident in lines like the following:

The moment the train pulled into Koiwa,
she turned soundlessly into a translucent morsel
and came sliding towards my feet
at a snail’s pace.

Hi!
I am just a high school student that has a passion for literature. I am doing a review on this author and I find it very stirring how his culture and past reflects in his work. He is beyond gifted and I truly feel privileged to be able to study so a good deal about this incredible author!
Sincerely,
Kat
